Many of you may have originally stumbled upon Lani Hall's vocal work when she was with Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 and Brasil '77. She went on to become the wife of famed trumpeter Herb Alpert. I came across this LP from another blog, and thought this album was fantastic, however the recording fidelity from the blog was sub-par. So I purchased a VG+ LP on eBay and started archiving...
The title track is a cover from the all too familiar Todd Rundgren, I thought it was performed with restraint and great taste. I hope you will enjoy this LP as much as I have.

I’ve been searching for this album for years!
ReplyDeleteI lost everything I owned to hurricane Ivan 8 years ago and of all the albums I lost this is the one I missed most and one of the few I haven’t been able to replace.
I’ve been looking for all Lani Hall but this one and the track Time Will Tell had meant so much to me that I go searching for it every few months. All I ever find are vinyl but I lost my turntable too and DVDs of her music seem impossible to find.
I just listened to it for the first time in about 10 years… I can’t begin to tell you how much this means to me.

By the way, if you like this you should look for her Sun Down Lady album. I lost that one too and have been able to find a few cuts but still looking for that full album as well.
